5. Digital citizenship

Technology coaches model and promote digital citizenship.

a. Model and promote strategies for achieving equitable access to digital tools and resources and technology-related best practices for all students and teachers

The document below is an edited Acceptable use policy. This policy and write up goes over how to effectively model a schools use policy to continue to stay updated with new technologies that seem to come out everyday. This is important and effective in a district so that everyone stays safe online and appropriate in the classroom.

b. Model and facilitate safe, healthy, legal, and ethical uses of digital information and technologies

The following link goes to a list of resources and rationales for using digital citizenship in the classroom. Knowing how to stay safe online and in any computer environment, should almost be as common of knowing not to let a stranger in your front door. People feel safe on the computer and by learning these skills, they will know they are safer.

c. Model and promote diversity, cultural understanding, and global awareness by using digital age communication and collaboration tools to interact locally and globally with students, peers, parents, and the larger community

The following links are resources for students to use and learn with at their own pace. The information is relivant because students are learning about how computers are sued and the content is controlled by the teacher since it is something that I created and there are no outside forces controlling the information.
